The serial number is 66XX MR verified the import date for me. I just spotted a Mark I on gunbroker and emailed the seller its serial number is 4XXX very early. The very first Desert Eagle chambered for the.50AE had the serial number 6349. Please note that in my 'teaser' a while back on this thread I was very careful not to claim that 6349 was a.50AE Desert Eagle manufactured by Magnum Research. Although it was, kinda. The first.50AE was a prototype, as you might well expect. Jericho 941 Serial Number Lookup Jericho 941 Serial Number. IWI Jericho 941 FS-9 9mm Semi-auto Pistol. Over the past 29 years MRI has been responsible for the design and development of the Desert Eagle pistol. Okay, howitzer jokes and alike aside I wanted to get some opinions on this.
I bought a 44 Mag. Desert Eagle Mk I back in the mid to late 1990's. I bought it used from a very popular shop in Manchester, NH. The gun is a great blaster and totally a fun gun. 44 Mag makes it reasonable to shoot and it performs well. Several times over the years, I've considered selling it but the custom finish has made me think twice and I've kept it. I've seen quite a few DE pistols in local shops and on the web but NEVER one like mine. It's a deep polished blue with polished chrome accents. I was never big on the outrageous gangsta style finishes (i.e. gold, tigerstipes, etc.) but I always felt this behemoth has a certain class and style in blue and chrome. I fairly certain the finish is original but I wanted to see if I could confirm it with Magnum Research and if I could score the year of manufacture and destination of the pistol I'd like to know. So I called MR and gave them the serial number. The customer service rep said that it is a pre-1988 gun and the records are kept in Israel so he couldn't tell me anything else.
I'm kinda bummed.. Does anyone know anything about this? Does this mean my DE was actually made in Israel and imported? I was really hoping to prove the original owner was someone famous.. I know it's shooting for the moon (pun intended).
